Family Liaison

 

Haley was a force to be reckoned with from the day she was born. She slept through the first night she was brought home, and when I say home, I mean a hotel, because she was born on one of the hottest days and Misty’s A/C went out. But that was Haley, she did things her way, on her own time. And her smile… man, that smile lit up the room. She is missed ever day, by so many people.

 

We never know why life works out the way that it does, but Haley’s short time on earth was just the beginning of what her spirit was meant to do. Her diagnosis, her fight and her memory will continue to do more for those in the pediatric cancer community. That was her wish, to bring awareness and to help others who are fighting the same fight. Misty and everyone with Heroes like Haley, are making sure that this wish will not be in vain. 

 

In my role with Heroes like Haley, I am the family liaison. I have my BA in Psychology and Master in Social Work - Holistic. I am a licensed social worker finishing up my second master degree in Complementary Alternative Medicine. My work focuses on mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, stress and fear. I hope that I can offer other Heroes and their families support through this difficult time in their lives. A little extra support can go a long way.

 

Haley lives on through our memories and this amazing foundation. We will continue her wishes the best way we can.
